Recipe: Mulato Chili With Cocoa




Amount Ingredient
Tablespoon(s)  oil 
Teaspoon(s)  cinnamon 
  onion, chopped 
Teaspoon(s)  garlic salt 
Clove(s)  garlic, minced 
Large  cans stewed tomatoes 
  *dried mulato chiles 
1 1/2  Cup(s)  *cooked black beans 
Tablespoon(s)  cumin 
Teaspoon(s)  unsweetened cocoa powder 
Tablespoon(s)  oregano 
    tomato juice for thinning 

    Directions:

    Soak the chiles in hot water for 25 minutes or until they become soft. Saute the onion in oil until trnslucent. Add the garlic, chile powder, spices and the stewed tomatoes (with their juice), simmer for 25 minutes. Add the cocoa powder and black beans. Stir well. If the chili is too thick add tomato juice till the desired consistency is achieved.
